Technical Training Assessor

Your tasks

• Proven understanding and experience of designing, delivering and continually improving training programmes and sessions for all key internal functions
• Ability to plan, organise and liaise with the production team as necessary to undertake safety critical work competence assessments and training, and quality assurance inspections.
• Ability to support the Head of Training and Competency in identifying training needs for teams across the business, ensuring legal, statutory and legal requirements are met and maintained, and ensuring that staff have the right skills, in the right place at the right time
• Make recommendations to the Head of Training and Competency from issues arising for assessments and quality assurance activities.
• Support the delivery of a rolling training plan in response to strategic objectives, engineering and operational change programmes and new or replacements assets.
• Ensure comprehensive records are maintained for all training, assessment and quality assurance activities that are carried out.
• Ability to develop and write high quality reports.
• Delivery of own annual key performance indicators set as part of ongoing development and performance reviews.
• Contribute towards a safety culture within Stadler, ensuring that safety is fundamental to training and quality assurance activities that are carried out.
• Ability to carry of risk assessments were required in response to ongoing changing business requirements.
• Ability to carry out concise and methodical investigations and inspections and write detailed recommendations to improve the safety and operation of the production function.
• Deliver mandatory training including but not limited to, rule book training and examinations to ensure all relevant competencies remain current and up to date.
• Ability to provide information, advice and guidance to the business in relation to operational railway requirements, legislation and industry best practice.
• Identify and contribute to solutions that improves processes and practices for the Training Team.
• Support the requirements for mandatory and time specific competencies to be fulfilled and delivered on schedule.
• Act as a coach and mentor for technical and operational staff, to ensure staff maintain high standards of work and technical expertise.
• Support the Stadler Engineering Apprenticeship scheme and programme including monitoring and review of engineering apprentices and acting as a mentor.
• Ensure that own professional occupational competence in all areas relevant to the role are developed and maintained.
• Ability to assist with development of local technical and operational instructions and procedures as directed and ensure that training, assessment and coaching content is amended or developed as required.
Your profile

Essential:
• Proven extensive experience in a service delivery engineering and ideally railway environment.
• Essential attainment of NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline (ideally dual bias)
• Awareness of Railway Standards and the Rule Book.
• Awareness of standards, requirements and processes for competence assessments in a safety critical environment.
• Awareness of safety, training, design and delivery.
• Knowledge and/or experience of Engineering Apprenticeship schemes and programmes.
• Experience of supporting and coaching staff to improve occupational standards and their technical ability.


Desirable:
• Developing and delivering training of a technical nature, preferably in a railway environment.
• Experience in an operational railway environment with knowledge of train movements and safe systems of work.
