HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

Reporting to the Fleet Duty Manager/Train Presentation Support Manager, you will work a permanent nightshift roster, including weekends and Bank Holidays. You will be responsible for the effective cleaning of Metrocars to the standards set out within the Service Quality Regime in an efficient manner using the appropriate materials and cleaning agents. Responsibilities include cleaning Metrocars, Depot Facilities, and Offices, while adhering to Cleaning Maintenance Programmes and complying with COSHH regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Organisational


•Utilise any cleaning equipment to assist in Train Care duties and to improve quality and productivity.
•Comply with all relevant safety rules, Work instructions, Safe Systems of Works, and •Fleet Duty Manager's/Train Presentation Manager/Train Care Leading Hand's/ instructions.
•Safely train Apprentices and other staff members on the full range of their duties as required/instructed.
•Assist in the preparation of Safe Systems of Work, Rule Changes, Risk Assessments and carry out Safety Management checks as required.
•Assist non-Engineering Group staff in duties carried out on rolling stock or in Gosforth Depot.
•Compile accurate examination sheets, modification records, and other relevant documentation - utilising appropriate IT systems or relevant paper-based documents.
•Carry out any duties trained and deemed competent to perform including driving Forklift trucks when needed, as part of Train Care duties.
•Other duties e.g. slinging, and movement of equipment as required in relation to Train Care material movement.
•Contribute to Depot upkeep and take responsibility for cleanliness and environmental obligations on the Depot.
Participate in any Service Quality Regime work that may be required.
•Carry out any Tasks as shown in the Engineering Agreement Skills Matrix where the Train Care Operative is trained and deemed competent.

•A salary of £34,604.08 inclusive of shift allowance.
•194.4 hours Holiday Entitlement plus bank holidays.
