Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. Since 2016, over 150 new Stadler trains have entered passenger operation in the UK which signifies the start of an exciting future. Our current depot locations are Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Norwich and Leicester offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry.

We are looking to recruit a Production Manager to join our production team at our Merseyside Depots, where you will be working with the Class 777 fleet. This role involves providing leadership and management for the Production Teams at both Kirkdale and Birkenhead North Train Maintenance Depots. Additionally, you will represent SRS UK as the Maintainer Control Room Contact (MCRC) at the Sandhills Integrated Electronic Control Centre.

Key responsibilities will include ensuring health and safety compliance, demonstrating technical knowledge, liaising with customers and suppliers, and understanding budgetary and contractual matters. Please note that this list is not exhaustive, and the role may also require involvement in various projects and workgroups.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

· Lead and manage the production team, providing the business with the contractual levels of performance including but not limited to; Safety, Reliability, Comfort and Train Presentation, and Availability on a 24-7 basis.
· Act as the Maintainer Control Room Contact (MCRC), co-ordinating Class 777 availability and diagramming with the Control Centre Production Controller.
· Offer advice to the Control Centre Production Controller to ensure the little impact is created due to service faults.
· Through RDS record all instances of service faults to ensure the correct information is documented to inform the depot teams of any corrective measures required.
· Compile accurate unit handover documents and carry out handover / handback process.
· Data input into SRMS and data capturing for reliability purposes.
· To attend any joint meetings with Merseyrail within the Control Centre, to ensure correct representation from Stadler regarding performance and delay attribution.
· Respond and support Merseyrail (within the IECC) to in service breakdowns and lead in a 'first response situation' should emergencies in service arise.
· Support the business in ensuring trains are provided as and when necessary, at all times meeting all criteria in the areas of product and people safety, reliability, environment and train presentation (interior & exterior as required). Ensuring industry, engineering and production best practice and standards, and at least as a minimum the contract requirements
· Provide robust leadership and management through a base professional production delivery know-how and competency, people and product safety culture, coupled with a continual improvement mindset and client and end-user-focused attitude. Must be able to act independently and set their own priorities while contributing to the companies KPI's and values.

What are we looking for?

Personnel

· Support the Head of Production by leading and coordinating teams of technical staff (e.g. technicians, fitters and assistants) to deliver work on rolling stock.
· Ensure all such activities are carried out with due regard to safety standards and performance targets.
· Deliver on the job quality inspections, reporting procedures and liaison with necessary stakeholders.
· Ensure that trains which go into service are safe, reliable and compliant with company procedures (e.g. VMI, VOI).
· Allocation of work to staff in accordance with maintenance plans (including work arising and enhanced work as required).
· Carry out appropriate inspections/checks as required or directed, including completion of 'in process evaluations', 'end of product checks' and general condition assessment, to ensure that work is done safely and to specification, to ensure a reliable and safe product.
· Ensure all documentation (e.g. job cards, defects logs, component labels, work orders and failure reports) associated with fleet maintenance and overhaul activities are completed.
· Support the Head of Production as required in the application of people management arrangements, including first level requirements of discipline, sickness and attendance monitoring procedures.
· Ensure that staff undertaking work is competent to do so, in accordance with the competence management regime. Also, support of staff to develop and maintain competence.
· Management of key safety accountabilities.
· Demonstrate ability to act appropriately as facility entry gate liaison person, controlling the access and egress of persons onto the site through the main entrance. *Liverpool only*.

Organisational

· Management of performance regime to ensure targets are achieved.
· Support the development and implementation of standards and procedures in accordance with legal, legislative and moral obligations of Stadler.
· Oversee reporting for example on safety failures and incidents and various management reports.
· Responsible for adhering to safety/quality systems and supporting the implementation of this.
· Foster a zero-harm culture within the production function by prioritising the safety of both people and products at all levels.
· Initiate, and where authorised, implement actions to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformities, rail safety issues, HSQ&E incidents, and deficiencies in processes or systems.
· Annual identification and quantification of risks in order to complete the risk register
· Demonstrate values based behaviour
· Effectively deputise for the Head of Production on a short to medium-term basis.

· £49,677.62 per annum. Increased to £52,599.83 per annum upon successful completion of probationary period.
