Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Personal:
•Carry out set scopes of work in accordance with VMIs, approved data, OEM manuals, and supporting documentation.
•Perform any recovery and corrective actions required to remedy emergent work.
•Upkeep of technical documentation and computerised maintenance management system.
•Operate all relevant equipment and machinery required to complete the main goals, this includes the depot tug for train movements to assist with unit positioning for overhaul tasks.
•Maintain and update accurate asset information, including serial numbers and usage. This also includes photographic evidence being taken to support future warranty claims and aid fault rectification.
•Accurate management of materials and consumables required for the task. Proactively highlighting potential deficiencies to the materials team before any planned work is affected.
•Assist in the research, preparation, and verification of any tasks forecast on the fleet of FLIRT units.
•Provide technical assistance and feedback to local departments and the wider organisation.
•Liaising with the planning department to ensure the effective and efficient completeness of scheduled scopes of work within allowable tolerances.
•Adherence to company health and safety policies and procedures at all times, reporting any incidents or near misses.
•Ensure timely identification of risks, swift escalation, and solution to line manager.
•Maintaining a clean working environment, demonstrating good husbandry.
Organisational:
•Supplements Infor EAM (SRMS) and other relevant reporting systems and document the work orders as required, including entering hours worked, booking materials used, and providing supporting documentation. This includes the use of all technology such as computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and their applications.
•Support fleet performance and availability with the timely exchange and upkeep of overhauled components.
•Perform work in accordance with VMIs, approved data sheets, OEM manuals, and supporting documentation and contribute to their creation and regular review.
•Provide effective communication with detailed reports and information to relevant departments.
•Demonstrates behaviour based values.
•Undertake and support any activity that capabilities permit.
•An awareness of cost and how to maximise efficiency.

What are we looking for?
Essential:•Mechanical and/or electrical qualified to a NVQ level 3 or proven similar standard or equivalent experience.
•Professional technical experience in an engineering environment or equivalent.
•Attention to detail when interpreting technical information, schematics, and drawings competently.
•Ability to work in a demanding environment, under tight and demanding deadlines, whilst making effective decisions to achieve a desirable outcome.
•Ability to work individually and as part of a team, going above and beyond where required.
•Be able to successfully complete and maintain all competencies required for the role.
•Must demonstrate commitment to maintaining professional knowledge.
•Full business awareness in terms of cost savings and effectiveness along with a keen focus and importance on the safety of yourself and others.
•Pride and quality in work being produced to satisfy customers' needs and expectations.

Desirable:
•Mechanical and electrical multiskilled.
•HND or Degree qualified.
•5 or more years of rail industry experience.
•Personal track safety certified.
•Valid forklift truck licence.
•Authorised person (high voltage).
•Overhead crane trained.
