HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
Personal Responsibilities
In this role, you will carry out defined scopes of work with precision, following Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMIs), approved data, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals. You'll also tackle emergent tasks, performing recovery and corrective actions with efficiency and care. Your ability to maintain and update technical documentation within a computerised maintenance management system will ensure the smooth flow of operations.
You'll operate essential equipment and machinery, including the depot tug, to support train movements and assist with unit positioning for overhaul tasks. Additionally, you'll maintain accurate asset information-documenting serial numbers and usage, along with capturing photographic evidence to support warranty claims and aid future fault rectifications.
Your role includes managing materials and consumables with accuracy, proactively identifying potential shortages and addressing them with the materials team to prevent any disruption to planned work. You'll also contribute to research, preparation, and verification of tasks forecast for our FLIRT units, ensuring excellence and reliability.
Collaboration is key! You'll provide technical assistance and feedback to both local departments and the wider organisation. By liaising with the planning department, you will help ensure scheduled work is completed efficiently and within acceptable tolerances. Maintaining a clean and organised work environment will reflect your high standards of professionalism and care.
Your commitment to health and safety will be paramount as you adhere to company policies, report incidents or near-misses promptly, and escalate risks to your line manager for swift resolution.
Organisational Contributions
As part of the team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our systems by supplementing Infor EAM (SRMS) and other reporting tools. You'll keep work orders updated, accurately recording hours worked, materials used, and providing essential supporting documentation-all while utilising the latest technology, from computers and tablets to smartphones and specialised applications.
Your efforts will directly contribute to fleet performance and availability by ensuring the timely exchange and upkeep of overhauled components. You'll perform your duties with precision, drawing upon VMIs, approved data sheets, OEM manuals, and other supporting documentation, while helping to review and improve these resources regularly.
Communication will be at the heart of your success as you deliver clear, detailed reports and share vital information across departments. Your professionalism and alignment with organisational values will shine through in your daily interactions and decision-making.
Flexibility and adaptability will be rewarded here-you'll have the chance to take on activities that match your capabilities and grow your skill set further. Always keeping an eye on cost efficiency, you'll contribute to maximising the value we bring to the business.
