Stadler Rail Service UK (SRSUK) are looking to recruit a Procurement Assistant. Working within the UK Procurement HQ Team, reporting into the Procurement Manager, supporting the business to implement innovation and advancement across the business.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the HQ Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring materials and tools are available to allow the business to provide trains, at all times meeting all criteria in the areas of product and people safety, reliability, environment and train presentation (interior & exterior as required). Ensuring industry, engineering and production best practice and standards, and at least as a minimum the contract requirements.
Engage with internal stakeholders from all functions, including depot personnel (Procurement, Technical & Production), Suppliers and 3rd Party Service providers to manage and challenge expectations to support collaboration and functional compliance for a seamless supply chain.
Ability to balance between long term strategic focus and short-term priorities based on Business needs.
Manage costs within operations & supply chain, ensuring that processes and systems are effective to meet our needs and deliver agreed service levels.
UK Travel will be required to Stadler Rail Services UK locations on a regular basis.

Main Tasks:

Organisational:
• Sourcing and obtaining quotations
• Processing PO's with approved vendors
• Tracking deliveries and updating order records (e.g. dates)
• Ensure all suppliers meet requirements to work with Stadler, including all relevant accreditations to maintain a safe and compliant supply chain
• Support any function with Supplier related issues
• Expediate overdue materials and parts with suppliers to effectively minimise any delays.
• Working cross functionally with other UK sites as per the business needs
• Recognise risk and be able to pre-empt mitigate & find resolution
• Support Warranty process as required

Experience:

Essential:
• Sound knowledge of material supply principles, procedures and practices
• IT skills in Microsoft Office and other applications used for stock management
• Ability to build personal credibility by demonstrating the organisation's values, building trust and proactively contributing to business success
• Strong team focus, proven ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organisation
• Is pro-active in the role and identifies improved ways of supporting the Company in managing their growth objectives
• Participate in team and one-to-one meetings
• Keep up to date with developments and policies and procedures within the Company, that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant internal/external factors e.g. Company policies and procedures, quality management standards, health and safety
