What are we looking for?

We are looking to appoint a highly experienced Data Analyst to join us as UK Payroll & HR Business Partner supporting both departments by collecting, organising and interpreting workforce data to provide insights which inform strategic decisions for workforce planning, budgeting and operational efficiency.

You will possess strong skills in the utilisation of internal and external data to report on workforce metrics for budgeting and workforce purposes.

Part of the role will require you to produce regular, monthly, annual and ad-hoc workforce reports for HR and Finance teams in line with the internal and external reporting requirements and adhering to the set timescales.

You will effectively communicate data findings to Senior Managers and the wider Stadler Group. Working closely with the Payroll Manager to support them in providing inter-departmental data exchange and collaboration.

You will also assist with payroll and expense processing across our UK sites in a time sensitive manner, engaging proactively with colleagues at all levels.

The role can be based at either our Liverpool or our Newcastle depot and given the UK nature of the role, travel to dedicated sites is expected on a frequent basis therefore applicants must be flexible to travel as needed. The role will qualify for our flexi scheme and hybrid working, with the option to work from home 2 days per week. A 36 hour contract, covering Monday to Friday.

Main Tasks

Personnel:

• Provide Payroll & Pensions processing administrative support ensuring data is accurately entered onto the payroll system readily for payroll cut off.
• Proficiently access and extract data from company systems – iTrent, Business Objects, Calitime for payroll processing and reporting purposes.
• Evaluate and interpret data using various software and tools such as Excel and Power BI.
• Clearly and effectively communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with managers, HR and finance to understand reporting requirements and support by contributing ideas for analysis and producing reports and visuals across the organisation.
• Drive informed decision making by using data to identify trends and work with managers to determine root cause of issues and develop effective organisational solutions.

What are we looking for?

Essential
• L5 Qualifications in finance, business or analytical studies.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to develop strong relationships.
• 5 + years experience with data/statistical analysis.
• Proven experience of presenting data to management.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities to analyse data objectively.
• Excellent IT skills and experience with Power BI.
• Confidentiality and attention to detail is key.
• Ability to manage own workload and work within deadlines.

Desirable
• Software experience with iTrent, Calitime Business Objects, SAP.
• Payroll qualification.
