Stadler has recently decided to expand its power converter factory. The facility will supply converters to Stadler's production sites worldwide, as well as to external customers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and optimize power converter topologies for traction and auxiliary systems in LRVs.
  • Ensure system-level functionality and compliance with customer specifications and standards.
  • Conduct engineering tests and measurements on prototypes and production units.
  • Select and validate power semiconductors (IGBTs, SiC-MOSFETs) for converter designs.
  • Simulate power electronic systems using MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE tools.
  • Collaborate with EMC specialists to ensure compliance with railway EMC standards.
  • Document design processes and support certification and homologation activities.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent in English
  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development for power electronics.
  • Strong experience in:
  • Designing power converters for traction and industrial applications.
  • Working with IGBT and SiC‑MOSFET switching technologies.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium, Eagle, or Mentor.
  • Power‑electronics modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink and SPICE.
  • High‑voltage measurement techniques and laboratory testing.
  • EMC experience is a strong plus
  • German is an asset
