As an Electrical Power System Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on creating highly efficient design plans for building state-of-the-art passenger trains.

Electrical Power System Engineer

Key Activities
  • Zero emission train system simulations such as wayside vs. vehicle energy/power storage solutions
  • Power consumption calculations based on railway infrastructure data
  • Analyze potential energy and power storage systems integration into Stadler vehicles
  • Support supplier requests and acceptance testing for energy supply systems
  • Interpret and incorporate local and federal as well as customer requirements into system design
  • Take ownership of the design, documentation and presentation, participate in customer meetings
  • Define design concepts, network schematics and system overviews as a bias for customers
  • Define interface handling and documentation between energy storages and train control systems
  • Technical coordination with other disciplines (software development, installation planning, mechanical engineering, fire protection, etc.)
  • Mentoring of co-workers and provide training about system functionality, design and specialties
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar power systems related Degree
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in railway, defense, aerospace or equal
  • Experience with power and energy storage systems and their electric grid interactions
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with experience in Technical Writing (Office suite)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
  • Business fluent in English Experience in electrical design, programming basics, Python and Matlab
  • Experience with Schematics software (E.g E3 or Ruplan)
  • Experience with supplier development and acceptance testing
