Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler, Switzerland. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 100 new Stadler trains will be joining the English railway network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK.

We are looking are looking to recruit a Purchasing Apprentice on a 2 year apprenticeship within Crown Point Depot in Norwich. The role will include studying for Level 3 Commercial Purchasing & Supply apprenticeship and carrying out SRSUK's mandatory training for the role. The successful candidate will have an interest in buying, negotiation or supply chain management.

Your tasks

•Issuing enquiries to our suppliers
•Ability to assess supplier quotes
•Raising purchase orders.
•Working with internal departments to ensure that Procurement procedures are followed
•Ensuring all data is correctly entered into SRSUK electronic procurement system (SRMS/Infor)
Your profile


•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Competent in MS Office applications
•Flexible approach to workload and tasks
•Keen eye for detail
•Ability to work to deadlines
•Has a determination to succeed and wants to be part of a growing organisation
•Minimum 5 GCSE's Grade A*-C (or equivalent) including English and Maths
•Ability to speak and understand the German language (desirable)
•The laws and regulation are to be complied and implemented in all conscience (legal compliance)
•Thus, all standards, especially the requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, EKAS 6508 and jointly applicable standards such as ISO 3834-2, DIN EN 15085-2, DIN 6701 are to be complied and discharged from active cooperation.
•The holder of the position supports co-workers and corporate management to every extent, contributes to fulfilling named policies, and recognises dynamic support for continuous development as a daily duty.
