YOUR TASKS

  • Daily Parts Availability: Ensure that the workshops have timely access to essential equipment and spare parts. Collaborate closely with the workshop and other departments to guarantee the availability of necessary resources for uninterrupted operations. Tasks include but not limited to: Purchase Order creation, Price request/Negotiations, Handle the delivery of ordered goods, Customs clearance procedures, and Invoice control.
  • Planning and Analysis: Plan and analyze procurement needs for repairs, overhauls, and major maintenance tasks. Ensure that all necessary parts and materials are available precisely when required, reducing downtime and operational disruptions. Cooperation with Warehouse/ Logistic/ Technical department and Site managers is crucial for demand planning.
  • RFP processes: Develop and execute Request for Proposals (RFP) to optimize sourcing, reduce costs, and improve supplier relationships. You will negotiate agreements, terms, exploiting synergies and conditions to secure the best deals.
  • Supplier Management: Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers based on performance, quality, and reliability. Continuously monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements that make procurement more efficient and cost-effective. Focus on reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing overall supply chain performance.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and contract conditions. Utilize your strong negotiation skills to secure the best possible agreements.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory to minimize excess stock while ensuring uninterrupted operations.
  • Communication and Cooperation: Foster effective communication and cooperation between the procurement team, workshops, and various departments. Your role is crucial in facilitating seamless collaboration, addressing immediate needs, and ensuring the procurement process aligns with operational demands.

YOUR PROFILE

Qualifications:
  • Higher relevant education in Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Procurement specialist or in a similar procurement role - experience in the rail industry or similar is advantageous
  • Technical components experience will be viewed as an advantage
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Very good MS-Office skills (Excel)
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English (oral and written)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Stadler Service Norway AS, a leading provider of railway solutions and a subsidiary of the globally recognized Stadler Rail Group, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Specialist. We are specialized in the maintenance of rail vehicles, ensuring the safety and efficiency of railway operations across Norway.

As our Procurement Specialist, you will hold a crucial position in our supply chain responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to meet our organization's needs. The position is highly operational and requires that the ideal candidate is stress tolerant, time efficient, collaborative (with Technical, Logistic, Planning, Sites, and management), meticulous, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

You will report to Procurement Manager. The Position will be based in Drammen or Oslo.

While experience in the rail industry is advantageous, it's not a strict requirement for this role. You will be joining a dedicated team of three employees. The Procurement department reports directly to the Head of Commercial Management at Stadler Service Norway AS. At Stadler, you will have the opportunity to grow in a supportive and collaborative environment alongside competent colleagues.
