Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 150 new Stadler trains will be joining the UK Rail Network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK. Our current depot locations are in Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry.

We are looking to recruit a UK technical Training Assessor to join the Training and Competence team. The role will be based predominately to support our Leicester site but you could be required to support any of our other UK locations listed above. Reporting to the Head of Training and Competence, responsibilities for this role will be to initially design and deliver an equipment courses to assist in the introduction of Stadlers Locomotive fleet within the UK. The development of a great working relationship will be essential to ensure knowledge transfer whilst working alongside our colleagues from Stadler Valencia (STAV) who are responsible for the design, build and test and commissioning. In order to enhance underpinning knowledge, factory visits and working alongside the test and commissioning teams will be required. The information gained will need to be tailored to enable this to be pitched at the correct level to enable our own technicians to conduct the required preventive and corrective maintenance.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Designing, delivering and continually improving Technical and operational training programmes – including but not limited to sub systems of Stadler rolling stock, Personnel Track safety, Designated persons and Depot Driving.
• Being a subject matter expert for new Stadler rolling stock and ensuring all staff are trained and competent to carry out their roles.
• Remaining current and up to date with in service changes and modifications made to Stadler rolling stock and re-train/re-brief staff when required.
• Supporting the production team by providing coaching and mentoring on new fleets, to ensure staff maintain high standards of work and technical expertise.
• Ability to assist with development of technical instructions and procedures and ensure that training, assessment and coaching content is amended or developed as required.
• Ensuring Training methods, standards, facilities and equipment remain fit for purpose to support effective delivery.
• Identify Training equipment requirements and assist in the creation of new equipment to support with training staff.
• Supporting the Training & Competence Management team to identify training needs for roles across the business.
• Ensure comprehensive records are maintained and analysed to inform future training programmes and provide an audit trail.
• Undertake high quality assessments and make decisions and provide feedback to candidates.

What are we looking for?

Essential

• Attainment of NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline (preferably Electrical bias)
• Experienced fault finding including remote and off-platform diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience in applying coaching, mentoring or instructional skills in the workplace.
• Excellent IT skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office packages.
• Proactive Attitude with willingness to travel
Desirable •

• Experience of working on new Rail Vehicles
• Experience with systems such as Vehicle Control, Digital Networks, Communication and Positioning, Safety Systems, HVAC, Propulsion, PIS CCTV, and Door Systems.
• Training Qualification (or willing to work towards)
• Assessing Qualification (or willing to work towards)

• Salary £45,000-£48,000
• 40-hour working week, Monday – Friday.
