Your tasks
As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be a member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces, and integrating brake systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Create concepts, specifications, and technical documentation for brake and pneumatic systems.
• Responsible for the design and integration of brakes into various rail vehicles.
• Coordinate technical and project system requirements between Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and other engineering teams.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for Stadler's contracted external system suppliers.
• Interpret and incorporate local, federal, and customer requirements into system design.
• Define procurement documentation, type testing, and commissioning documentation.
• Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles.
• Responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI) of assigned systems.
• Follow scheduling, budgetary goals and guidelines.
• Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration.
Your profile
• BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering discipline.• 3+ years' experience with designing and defining complex systems (pneumatics or hydraulics is a plus).
• Independent and well-structured working methods.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus)
• Experience working in a PLM system (SmarTeam or Teamcenter is a plus)
